Ben Baker Recognized in Statewide T-Shirt Design Contest

Each year, the University of South Carolina sponsors a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) T-Shirt Design Contest, which is open to PLTW students across the state. Students from West-Oak Middle School Gateway classes (Project Lead The Way - PLTW) entered the contest. They were rewarded for their efforts when Ben Baker, an eighth grader at the school, received Honorable Mention for his entry.

The T-shirt designs for the contest are based on the Engineering Week theme for the year, which currently is “Engineers Make a World of Difference.” All participants in the competition receive a commemorative T-shirt printed with the winning design.

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) provides a comprehensive approach to STEM Education in schools. Through activity-, project-, and problem-based curriculum, PLTW gives students in kindergarten through high school a chance to apply what they know, identify problems, find unique solutions, and lead their own learning.
