The Seneca Middle School community is accustomed to having members of its music programs selected as the best in the county, region and even the state.  However, it is truly exceptional to have a student named as one of the finest in the nation.  For the second rotation in a row, a student from the Seneca Middle School chorus program has been selected for the National Middle School/Junior High Honor Choir.  Eighth grader Dalton Land will travel to Kansas City, Missouri from February 27 - March 2, 2019, to rehearse with this choir and will present a concert on March 2, 2019, as part of the National American Choral Directors Conference.

The National Honor Choir is only formed every two years, alternating years with a multi-state regional choir, both selected through the American Choral Directors Association.  The Seneca Middle School chorus program has had one or more of its members named to either the National or Southern Region Honor Choir for each of the past three years.  At Seneca Middle School, Dalton is a member of the Honors Chorus directed by National Board Certified teacher Carla Brock.
